when I first saw the trailer for The Lego Movie I wanted to see it for being a movie and I didn't care if it was gonna turn out to be an extended toy commercial or a cash grab. I went into the theater just cause I wanted to have some fun and I wanted to enjoy it just for being a movie and not like anything else. One of the reasons was their have already been hundreds of short films, TV shows, video games, and other movies based on Legos. Like The adventures of Clutch powers for example. So I didn't surprise me at all that it was going to be a good movie. I went into the theater with no expectation or worries but just because I wanted to watch a simple movie and I loved it. So I think people take the whole cash grabbing and product placements too far(Well since we got The Garbage Pail kids movie in the past and now the emoji movie I guess you argue that we have every right feel that way sometimes) But that's not the point, just because it's based on toys doesn't immediately make it a mediocre extended commercial
